Board Notes – May 26, 2009
Several parents addressed the board to discuss matters of student discipline and a playground incident.
Change orders were approved for the parking lot renovation project.
Participation in the county Summer Youth Work Study Program was approved.
Quotes and recommendations were given for preschool playground equipment; no action was taken by the board.
The board approved motorizing the gym bleachers and installing a large ceiling-mounted projection screen for special events.
Mr. Cappuccio’s contract as board solicitor was renewed at the current rate.
The board approved renewal for transportation software and e-rate consultant services.
Open Public Records Act Request Forms and charges were approved.
A lease with Ricoh for three digital copiers was approved for the coming year, to replace the current failing copiers.
Facilities, Curriculum, and Personnel Committees reported on recent meetings.
Mrs. Rishel reported that the Parent Portal, which will allow parents access to their children’s cafeteria accounts, was now installed and passwords/logins would be issued shortly to interested parents.
Parent request for a PK student who has moved from the district to complete her year at Folsom was approved.
Staffing configuration for teachers for the 09-10 year was approved.
Professional development requests and field placement requests were approved.
Howard Dodson, Hammonton, was approved as substitute teacher.
Revised Computer Teacher and Computer Technology Coordinator job descriptions were approved.
Contract with Professional Therapy Services to provide occupational therapy was approved.
Letter of resignation from Mrs. Ravell, fourth grade teacher, was accepted with regrets.
Teachers were approved for home instruction.
Summer hours were approved for Mrs. Wendt, Mr. Baldermann, Ms. Santucci, and Mrs. Cirillo.
