Below is the summary of the notes from the Folsom Board of Education meeting for the date selected.

Board Notes  November 24, 2009

·         Eugene Taormina reviewed the annual financial audit and applauded the district for excellent management of revenues and expenditures.

·         Purchase of Systems 3000 Personnel Software Module was approved.

·         Various transportation jointures were approved.

·         Facilities use requests by the Folsom Athletic Association, the Folsom Municipal Drug Alliance, and the Jersey Shore Boy Scout Council were approved.

·         Contract with William Cappuccio, Esq., was approved for the current year as School Board Solicitor.

·         Mr. Ward discussed the progress on the gradebook software and upcoming parent portal.  Testing for the new system will begin in December.

·         Mrs. Rishel discussed an offer by the Hammonton Exchange Club to purchase and install a Freedom Shrine, containing documents relating to our nation’s history.  The board supported this project.

·         Marie Peterson was approved as permanent substitute playground aide for the current year, to provide additional coverage daily.

·         The following stipended positions were approved:  Ms. DeSordi, Boys’ Basketball Coach; Ms. Dirkes, Cheerleading Coach; and Mrs. Vitalo, Cheerleading Assistant.

·         The board approved placing Ms. Previte on the BA + 15 step, retroactive to September 2009.

·         The board approved the revised and new 6000 series policies through second reading, and a first reading of the 7000 series.

·         Various professional development requests were approved.

·         The following substitute personnel were approved: Kim McBrearty, support staff; Kara Belmonte and Deborah Drebitko, teachers.

·         Field trips and basketball away game trips were approved.

·         Mrs. Veneziani noted the excellent job by staff in arranging this year’s Veterans Day program, as well as the recent Talent Show.
