Board Notes – September 23, 2008
Mrs. Fichetola and Mr. Roth presented an update on their habitat project.
Facilities use applications were approved for: Folsom Athletic Association and Folsom Educational Foundation.
Great American Plan Administrators were approved at no cost to administer the district’s 403 (b) plans through 2011.
Tuition and transportation contracts were approved for several out-of-district students.
Attendance by board members at local workshops and the National School Boards Convention was approved.
Ms. Abbamondi was approved for reimbursement as presenter for various afterschool technology workshops.
Stipends were approved for Talent Show Advisor ($300) and a second Assistant Advisor for the Drama Club ($500).
The list of appointed members for stipended positions was approved (sports, clubs, etc.).
The board accepted Colleen Hilbmanns’s letter of resignation, effective August 30.
Travel expenditures were approved for staff members to attend state trainings and professional development workshops.
1000 and 2000 series policies were approved through final reading.
3000 series policies were presented for first reading.
Approval was given to apply for IDEIA funds in the amount of $99,678 (Basic) and $4,176 (Preschool), and for NCLB funds in the amount of $98,560.
Field trips for grades PK, 3,4, 5,6, and 8 were approved.
Mrs. Georgeann Verderame was approved as special education aide, and Ms. Denise Siligato was approved as playground aide, for the current school year. Ms. Geraldine Trasatti was approved as a substitute custodian, and Ms. Melissa Winsor as substitute teacher.
Mr. Chandler’s contract as School Business Administrator received final approval.
The following new job descriptions were approved: Character Club Advisor, Leo Club Advisor, Technology Club Advisor, and Drama Club Advisor and Assistant.
Changes were approved for the Use of Facilities Rules and Regulations.
K and K Educational was approved as a provider for homebound instruction.
Travis Davis was approved for junior field experience with Ms. DeSordi.
