Board Notes – October 23, 2008

• Mrs. Rishel presented information from the 2007-08 Violence and Vandalism Report.  Two incidents of student fights were reported.

• Facilities use applications were approved for: Folsom Athletic Association, Folsom Municipal Drug Alliance, Folsom Home and School Association, and Cruisin’ Classic Auto Club.

• The board approved the installation of a new audio system for the multipurpose room from Pro Audio and Video at a cost of $8,087.20.

• Tuition and transportation contracts were approved for several out-of-district students.

• Job description was approved for the Talent Show Advisor.

• Travel expenditures were approved for staff members to attend state trainings and professional development workshops.

•  Homework Clinic was approved for grades 4-8, beginning in late October and continuing through May. Mrs. Ruggiero and Mrs. Hoffman will alternate as monitors.

• 3000 series policies were approved through second reading.

•  The 2008-09 Nursing Services Plan was approved.

• The board adopted superintendent and district goals for the current year, dealing with improvement in language arts literacy and refinement of curriculum through curriculum mapping.

• Field trips for grades K and1 were approved, as well as the chorus trip to Atlantic City.

• Ms. Carmella Santora was approved as support staff substitute, and Ms. Roberta Morris as substitute teacher.
