Board Notes – November 27, 2007

• Dave Gingras, Jersey Shore Council BSA, presented information on starting a Cub or Boy Scout program at Folsom School.  Interested parents should contact the school office.

• Facilities use was granted to Mrs. Carty for Girl Scouts, to Mrs. Passalaqua for Foundation meetings and the Comedy Night (Jan. 26), and to the Hammonton Youth Soccer Association.

• Transportation jointure contracts were approved with Hammonton Board of Education, Monroe Township Board of Education, and Greater Egg Harbor Board of Education for special and high school routes.

• An easement was granted to allow installation of new electric cable for the school.

• The 2008-09 Comprehensive Maintenance Plan was approved.

• The following were approved as substitute teachers: Nancy Mazza, Amanda Cirillo, Tracy Everland, Laurie Vasquez, and Donna Mazzone; and as substitute custodial/cafeteria/playground aide, Rosa Contes.  Source 4 Teachers substitute lists were also approved.

• Kristin Perone and Denise Barrie were approved for practicum placements in grades 8 and 1, beginning in January 2008.

• Amanda Cirillo was approved as long-term substitute for Mrs. Lankin, from Jan.-June 2008.

• The board approved applying for Early Childhood Program Aid funds in the amount of $128,018 for 2008-09, and accepted No Child Left Behind grant funds for the current year.

• Professional development workshops for Mrs. Rishel, Mrs. McCaffrey, Mrs. Fichetola, Mrs. Marano, and Ms. Pickul were approved.

• Field trips for grades 3, 8, and chorus were approved.

• The board approved a payment deduction schedule for Ms. Dirkes in accordance with the settlement reached last summer.

• Parent tuition placement for a kindergarten student was approved for the remainder of the school year.  (Resident family is moving from the district.)
