Introduction
Safety of all students is the main objective of the Falcon’s Nesting Place Program. This program is designed to meet the educational and social needs of the children by providing a safe, supervised atmosphere that encourages creativity and boosts self-esteem. This program is operational during the time that a child is usually at home, thus the program should compliment the school’s curriculum.
The morning session will be a quiet time for chatting, reading, coloring, doing homework or playing a quiet game. The afternoon session will be structured the same as the morning with the exception of allowing children to unwind, talk about the day, and complete homework. They will be encouraged to go outside, weather permitting. Special projects will be developed based upon the children’s interests.
Program Qualifications
Children in grades Pre-K through 8, who attend Folsom Elementary School, are eligible to attend the program.

Program Hours/Pick-up Procedures
Morning Session: 7:00 AM – 8:30 AM
Afternoon Session: 3:15 PM – 5:30 PM
Half Day Session: 12:45 PM – 5:30 PM
The morning session of FNP will be held in the Multi Purpose Room. Students are to enter the building through the back of the school, (door #13) where a FNP staff member will be present and will sign your child/children in for that session. Please be sure your child has entered the building before leaving.
The afternoon session of FNP will be held in room #224 or room #227. When picking up your child, you will need to buzz a FNP staff member and state who you are picking up. Children you are picking up will need to be signed out by a parent/guardian, or a person on their pick-up list. The school clock is the official time of pick-up. Please notify each person on your list that they will be required to show photo identification when they pick-up your child. Your cooperation is essential in maintaining the safety of your child/children.
If you know in advance that you are going to be late, (after 5:30), please make the necessary arrangements to have your child/children picked up on time. Lateness will result in additional fees, suspension and possibly termination from the program.

Snacks
During the AM session of FNP, the cafeteria serves breakfast at 8:00 AM; students attending the AM session may purchase breakfast if they choose to do so. For those students who do not wish to purchase a school breakfast, they may bring in something from home and eat it during this time. Students who attend the AM session are not permitted to have breakfast in their classrooms when breakfast is served to those students who do not attend the program.
During the PM session of FNP, once everyone has been accounted for, there will be a 15-minute snack time. Students may bring in a snack from home, please remember, there is no place for students to purchase snacks at school. Also, on early dismissal days, we advise all students to have a snack since they are in FNP for a longer period of time.
Accident Insurance
Accidents are covered by the “blanket” district insurance. It is highly recommended that parents purchase the “round the clock” insurance plan for their child/children, especially is you have no other accident insurance. Accidents must be reported to the FNP Director at the time of the accident in order to qualify for insurance.

Operational Dates
Please refer to the school calendar.
If school is closed for the day due to inclement weather, there will be no FNP that day.
If school has a delayed opening, there will be no AM session of FNP that day.
If school has an early dismissal due to weather or emergencies, there will be no FNP that day.

Attendance Policy
You must notify the school or FNP to report a change in schedules.
If you use the program on a full-time schedule, and your child will not be attending on a scheduled day, you must do one of the following.
1) Call the school and let them know your child will not be attending the program that day.
2) Send in a note to your child’s teacher informing them that your child will not be attending that day.
If you use the program on an as-needed basis, and need to send your child to FNP you must:
1) Send a note to your child’s teacher informing them that your child is to report to FNP that day.
2) If you schedule your child/children to attend for more than one day on an as needed basis for that week, the full-time rules will apply if your child/children will be absent.
Also, if you must discontinue the use of FNP, or there are significant schedule changes, please notify us.
Tuition
Single enrollment: $3.00 per hour
Each additional child: $2.50 per hour
Late Pick-Up Fee
A late pick-up fee, payable upon arrival, will be charged as follows:
(AFTER 5:30 PM)
1 – 15 minutes late $10.00 per child ![]()
16 – 30 minutes late $20.00 per child
If lateness occurs a second time, you will be billed accordingly and your child/children will be suspended from the program for 30 days.
Payments and Billing
Checks or money orders will be the only form of payment accepted. Cash will not be accepted for any reason. Please make checks or money orders payable to: Falcon’s Nesting Place, and includes your child’s name and invoice number.
Bills are sent home with the students, (youngest child if you have two or more), on the first day of the following month, with a payment due date of two weeks. Failure to make payment within the two weeks will result in a past due notice. You will have two weeks to make payment in full, if payment is not received by this date, your child/children will then be suspended for 30 days. A reinstatement fee of $50.00 will be required upon your child’s return to the program. Frequent past due notices will not be tolerated and could result in termination from the program. You may send in your payment with your child, in an envelope marked FNP, and their teacher will forward it to FNP; however, FNP will not be responsible for payments not received. It is your responsibility to ensure your payment has been received. FNP strongly suggests that you give your payment to a FNP staff member at the time you drop off or pick-up your child.
*Contacting a FNP Board Member can make optional billing or payment arrangements.
Discipline Policy
The FNP mission is to guide children into becoming happy, responsible and cooperative participants in this program. Positive, non-threatening techniques are used to increase children’s respect for themselves and guide them to become responsible for their own actions. This is to help students grow in respect for their rights and feelings of other people and to promote safety at all times. When conflict over the rights of other people or property develop, we will work with each individual child, listening to what each child has to say, and help to resolve the conflict through effective communication. A serious discipline problem is one in which a child is hampering the smooth flow of the program wither by requiring constant one-on0one attention, is inflicting physical or emotional harm to other children, or is otherwise unable to conform to the rules and guidelines of the program.
When a conflict occurs, the following procedures will be implemented:
The child may not be allowed to participate in the activity where the conflict occurred for a period of time.
If the conflict continues, an incident report will be provided to the parent/guardian at the time of pick-up, and must be signed by so.
Three written incident reports will result in that child being suspended form the program for 30 days.
If the conflict continues upon re-admittance into the program, the child will be suspended indefinitely from the program.
It is our policy never to use methods of physical abuse for resolving conflicts. Similarly, we will not allow others, including the children, to do so. Any parental complaint should by addressed to the FNP Director or the FNP Board. It should be understood that this program is provided as a service and is not a school district requirement. Problem individuals will be suspended indefinitely from the program.
